Question:Does this have a breakaway rim?
Answer:I think some of these people do not know what a breakaway rim is! This is a breakaway rim, a rim that has a spring that allows it to pulled down after someone dunks on it, then it springs back to its original position.
Question:What are the dimensions of the base? I'd like to place this between the sidewalk and street.
Answer:The base is roughly rectangular, approx 32 in wide and 50 in deep. There is also a ground anchor that screws into the ground and attaches to the rear of the base by a rope that extends the depth another ~16 inches. Hope this helps!

Very sturdy and solid. It took almost 3 hours to complete. Personally this item feels much stable than the silverback nxt one. Awesome and worth to have this.

I am not exceptionally smart nor exceptionally handy; however, I read the instructions carefully, took my time, and successfully completed the assembly in 3 1/2 hours (by myself). I did see where some of the instructions are not crystal clear due to the 3D drawings provided - and I did make a few mistakes (like tightening the bolts on the support arms before putting the backstop on) but all of my mistakes were completely my fault because I didn't follow the cautionary instructions clearly written in the instructions. My only complaint is that the 2 black screws that secure the rim's protective cover seem too large for the holes. I will try to use a power screw driver and hopefully generate more torque to fit them into the cover. Otherwise, the assembly was fine. It is not "easy" but nothing too difficult. If your driveway or ground is slanted forward or sideways, you will have to improvise with shims to level the goal (as you can see in the photo, I used pavers to level ours) Make sure you have all of the suggested tools (including a saw horse or table to lean the base and pole assembly on while you attach the backboard) and you should be fine. If you are looking for a stable, quality, goal that easily adjusts from 7.5 feet to 10 feet. This is a good buy for the money.

This hoop is awesome! I have had it for a few weeks and use it like once a day. I cannot wait til my kids are old enough to enjoy it with me! Also, I debated whether to use water vs. sand in the base after reading about both. This hoop has a nice compartment that opens up. I decided to go two 50 lb bags of sand and one 50 lb bag of small rocks. Then, I bought 2 16 inch stakes and a ratchet strap on the outside of the unit’s base. This thing is super sturdy and not going anywhere! And I don’t have to deal with the hassle of water or basegel and whether it will freeze in the winter. Overall, awesome hoop!

Very happy with this purchase. The base with the water and sand combo, makes it very sturdy. The degree of assembly was a 6 on a scale of 10. It took about 2hrs to complete-it is definitely a two person job.
