    Product Description

    Oakley Summer House Range

    Range Features

What makes the Oakley Summer House range so special is that Forest have managed to combine a stylish, extensively-glazed design with an exceptionally robust structure, creating a summerhouse where you’ll love to spend time, with the added reassurance that it will last for years.

The Oakley’s modular design means your summerhouse is delivered in smaller sections but you get more wood, making for an easier assembly but stronger build. What’s more, with pressure-treated protection, the wood is not only guaranteed against rot for 15 years, there’s no need to retreat it, which saves you money and leaves you more time to relax in your summerhouse.

    Customer questions & answers

Q: How easy is this building to assemble?
A: Using the digital assembly instructions included in your order confirmation and with a team of at least 2 people, the handy pre-assembled panels mean you will have your BillyOh building up in no time!

Q: How is the building delivered?
A: Our sheds and summerhouse are delivered in easy to assemble panels. For your convenience, the panels are no wider than 4ft so they can be easily manoeuvrable and fit through a standard doorway. Glazing and any additional wood are delivered in separate, clearly labelled packages.

Q: Will I need planning permission for this building?
A: If your building is shorter than 2.5m you should not require planning permission, (unless it’s more than 50% of your garden or will be placed in your front garden). Planning permission rules can vary by area so we would strongly recommend checking your local council rules before purchasing a garden building from us.

Q: What is the difference between Spray Treated and Pressure Treated?
A: Spray Treated: Our sheds and summerhouses get a beautiful golden brown spray treatment before leaving the factory in order to preserve the quality of the wood up until the delivery. As this only lasts through the transit stage, we do advise treating the wood after installation to protect and preserve it, as well as annual maintenance.
Pressure Treated: For an extra level of protection, you can opt for a pressure treated building which is an effective way of keeping the wood long lasting. This is an extra step in the manufacturing process where the wood is treated in a pressurised tank. Chemical preservatives are forced deep into the wood’s fibres to resist rot, decay and termites.

The instructions are not the easiest to follow and it took us a couple of attempts to attach some of the panels. Apart from these flaws, we are happy with our summer house.

If you are looking for precision engineering, luxury log cabin etc - this is not the product for you. It is a reasonable quality, lo-cost, self build kit form, quite large garden shed/summer house. In terms of quality: When it arrives you think it is really flimsy, but when you get all the panel screwed together and the roof on, it is actually quite solid. You won't get the panels perfectly joined, but there are fascia strips provided which covers any imperfections. Cost: I did think about just buying the wood and making a shed myself from scratch, but I was over double the cost when I priced up the walls alone, never mind the floor, roof, windows and door. In terms of construction, its can be a bit fiddly, but just follow the instructions and you'll be okay. Its a bit more of a challenge than IKEA furniture, but not so much that you need a trained carpenter. Some tips: If I were to do it again, I would invest or borrow a good battery powered screwdriver with a spare battery so that you've always got one on charge. A battery drill would be handy as well, it will save dragging cables around. A bob the builder tool belt to hold the drill, screwdriver and screws would also have helped. Spring clamps (I had some) were indispensable when screwing the panels together. There might be some gaps between panels (I had some in the roof - because my base wasn't quite square). I used expanding foam to fill these and it worked okay. Overall: I am quite happy with what I got for the price I

Good but could do with some slight modifications, Front joints should be shaped to fit, two squares at a angle does not work
